NSCDC Graduates 97 Personnel In Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has graduated 97 personnel of the Corps to enhance its operations in the country.

The Commandant of the Corps, Musa Mala, who disclosed this at the graduation ceremony on Wednesday in Dutse, said the graduates had completed first three months of the training exercise at its headquarters in Dutse.

He said the graduates would proceed to one of its training colleges for another three months training before their deployment to various commands of the corps across the country, adding that thw personnel are part of the 5,000 youths recruited in 2019, adding however that the exercise stalled due COVID-19 pandemic.

“The 97 trainees form part of the 5,000 trainees newly recruited and trained nationwide.

“Their absorption into the workforce of the Corps will greatly enhance its performance in providing security of lives and property of the general public,” he said.

Mala commended the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr Ahmed Audi, for providing necessary equipment and facilities which facilitated successful conduct of the training exercise and other operations.

While congratulating the trainees, Mala charged them to be honest and dedicated in the discharge of thier duties.

“I want you to be good ambassadors of the Corps anytime, anywhere and know that the reputation and public confidence earned by the Corps is not driven overnight, but through the sacrifices and determination of its founding fathers,” he said.

In his remarks, Audi said the Corps had been better equipped and repositioned to fight all forms of illegalities and crimes in the country.

Audi, represented by Prof. Iliyasu Dongs, Zonal Commander, Zone N, congratulated the personnel for scaling through the first phase of the training exercise.

NAN reports the event was attended by representatives of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Federal Fire Service, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), among others.
