NSE Index: Ardova Boosts Gain, As Dangote Records Huge Loss

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market closed with 4753.00 deals on Thursday, February 4th, 2021, lower than the 5887.00 deals on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021. The volume reached 629,410,194.00 units at the close of the market on Thursday Higher than the 504,837,137.00 units it closed with on Wednesday.

The value of trades recorded on Thursday was NGN7,980,763,209.51 with the All-Share Index of 41,785.80 a decrease of -0.51% (-214.21) over Wednesday’s value of 42,000.01

The stock market also ended with an equity of N21.859 trillion capitalisation on Thursday lower than the N21.971 trillion equity recorded on Wednesday.

Top Five Gainers
Ardova led the top gainers' chart again after its stock price gained N1 to close trading at N19 per share after opening the trading with N18 per share, according to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market data seen by AllNews.

Presco was second on the table, as its stock price gained NGN0.5 kobo to close the market with N75 per share, having started trading today with N74.5 kobo per share.

May & Baker was the third top gainer, as its stock price closed the market with NGN0.35 kobo gain to move from the opening price of N4.55 kobo per share to N4.9 kobo per share.

FCMB takes the fourth spot, having closed the market with NGN0.18 kobo gain to end trading at N3.5 kobo per share from the opening share price of N3.32 kobo per share.

Eterna was last on the top five gainers list, a drop from its initial Fourth spot after its share price gained NGN0.15 kobo to close trading at N5.75 kobo per share, having opened trade at N5.6 per share.

Top Five Losers
On the top of the losers' list is Dangote Cement, which had begun trading at NGN236 per share, only to drop in price by NGN-6 to close at NGN230 per share at the end of trading.

Julius Berger was second on the chart after closing at NGN19.7 kobo per share from its opening trade price of NGN21 kobo per share; this represents a drop of NGN-1.3 kobo.

NNFMs share price fell by NGN-0.87 kobo as its share price closed trading at NGN7.88 kobo per share, lower than the NGN8.75 kobo per share it opened with.

Champion also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-0.33 kobo to close trading at NGN26.75 kobo per share, below the NGN26.95 kobo per share it opened with.

Zenith Bank completed the top five losers chart after it closed trading with NGN26.75 kobo per share, losing NGN-0.2 kobo from the NGN26.95 kobo per share it opened trading with.

Top Five Trades
AllNews learnt that the top trade in the stock market for Thursday is FBN Holdings, which traded a volume of over 126.35 Million units worth over N923.18 million. GTBank retains its second spot on the list with a volume of over 87.21  million units worth NGN2.88 billion. UBN was third on the list, trading over 78.44 million units worth NGN454.96 million.

FCMB was the fourth on the most traded stock list, closing the market with over 66.49 million units traded at over NGN232.24 million. Transcorp completes the top five list with over 40.9 million units traded at over NGN41.3 Million.
