NSE Index: Market Performance Surges For New Week

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market closed with 4,655.00 deals on Monday, March 8th, 2021, lower than the 4,895.00 deals on Friday, March 5th, 2021. The volume reached 3,154,329,880.49 units at the close of the market on Monday lower than the 587,742,048.00 units it closed with on Friday.

The value of trades recorded on Monday was N3,154,329,880.49 with the All-Share Index of 39,396.57 an increase of 0.17% (64.96) over Friday's value of 39,331.61

The stock market also ended with an equity of N20.61 trillion capitalization on Monday lower than the N20.58 trillion recorded on Friday

Top Five Gainers
Linkage Assurance
led the top gainers' chart after its stock price gained N0.05 to close trading at N0.55 per share after opening the trading with N0.5 per share, according to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market data seen by AllNews.

Ardova was second on the chart, as its stock price gained NGN1.35 kobo to close the market with N14.85 kobo per share, having started trading with N13.50 kobo per share.

Champion been third on the gainers' list closed the market with NGN1.84 kobo per share from the opening price of N1.68 kobo per share which represent an increase of N0.16 kobo gain in the share price.

Oando takes the fourth spot, having closed the market with NGN0.25 kobo gain to end trading at N2.90 kobo per share from the opening share price of N2.65 kobo per share.

Morison was last on the list after its share price gained NGN0.06 kobo to close trading at N0.72 kobo per share, having opened trade at N0.66 per share.

Top Five Losers
Meyer tops the decliners' list today Monday, March 8th, 2021, having begun trading at NGN0.50 kobo per share, only to drop in price by NGN-0.05 kobo to close at NGN0.45 kobo per share at the end of trading.

Livestock was second on the chart after closing at NGN2.01 kobo per share from its opening trade price of NGN2.23 kobo per share; this represents a drop of NGN-0.22  kobo.

SCOA also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-0.11 kobo to close trading at NGN2.38 kobo per share, below the NGN2.64 kobo per share it opened with.

Ikeja Hotel's share price fell by NGN-0.11 kobo as its share price closed trading at NGN1.05 kobo per share, lower than the NGN1.16 kobo per share it opened with.

Nem completed the top five decliners chart after it closed trading with NGN1.76 kobo per share, losing NGN-0.13 kobo from the NGN1.89 kobo per share it opened trading with.

Top Five Trades
AllNews learnt that the top trade in the stock market for Monday 8th March 2021 is Zenith Bank which traded a volume of over 66.49 million units worth N1.67 billion.

FBN Holdings is the second on the list with a volume of  23.48 million units worth over NGN169.45 million.

Third On the list is Axamansard having traded with over 21.36 million units worth NGN20.92 Million.

Guinea Insurance was fourth on the most traded stock list today, closing the market with over 20.18 million units traded at NGN4.04 million.

United Capital completes the top five list with over 13.59 million units traded at over NGN64.13 Million.
