NSE Index: See Top Five Gainers, Losers And Trades

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market closed with 4,953.00 deals on Monday, February 22nd, 2021, lower than the 4,393.00 deals on Friday, February 19th, 2021. The volume reached 289,338,344.00 units at the close of the market on Monday lower than the 307,785,595.00 units it closed with on Friday.

The value of trades recorded on Monday was N3,573,971,068.65 with the All-Share Index of 40,154.09 a decrease of -0.08% (-32.61) over Friday’s value of 40,186.70

The stock market also ended with equity of N21.04 trillion capitalisation on Monday lower than the N21.17 trillion equity recorded on Friday

Top Five Gainers
UPDC
 led the top gainers' chart after its stock price gained N0.5 kobo to close trading at N5.85 kobo per share after opening the trading with N5.35 per share, according to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market data seen by AllNews.

CHI was second on the table, as its stock price gained NGN0.03 kobo to close the market with N0.36  kobo per share, having started trading with N0.33 kobo per share.

Academy was the third top gainer, as its stock price closed the market with NGN0.03 kobo gain to move from the opening price of N0.35 kobo per share to N0.38 kobo per share.

Cornerstone takes the fourth spot, having closed the market with NGN0.05 kobo gain to end trading at N0.69 kobo per share from the opening share price of N0.64 kobo per share.

UPL was last on the list after its share price gained NGN0.09 kobo to close trading at N1.29 kobo per share, having opened trade at N1.2 per share.

Top Five Losers
Africa Prudential
tops the loser's list today Monday, February 22nd 2021, having begun trading at NGN7.3 kobo per share, only to drop in price by NGN-0.7 kobo to close at NGN6.6 kobo per share at the end of trading.

Lasaco was second on the chart after closing at NGN1.52 kobo per share from its opening trade price of NGN1.68 kobo per share; this represents a drop of NGN-0.16 kobo.

Niger Insurance's share price fell by NGN-0.02 kobo as its share price closed trading at NGN0.21 kobo per share, lower than the NGN0.23 kobo per share it opened with.

Wapco also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-2 to close trading at NGN23 per share, below the NGN25 kobo per share it opened with.

Red Star Express completed the top five losers chart after it closed trading with NGN3.12 kobo per share, losing NGN-0.25 kobo from the NGN3.37 kobo per share it opened trading with.

Top Five Trades
AllNews learnt that the top trade in the stock market for Monday is FBN Holdings which traded a volume of 57.56 million units worth over N419.7 million.

UCAP was the second on the list with a volume of over 27.44 million units worth over NGN167.3 million.

Third On the list was GTBank having traded with 26.85 million units worth over NGN820.5 Million.

UBA was fourth on the most traded stock list today, closing the market with 25.2 million units traded at over NGN210.95 million.

Zenith Bank completes the top five list with over 21.75 million units traded at NGN540.3 Million.
