NSE Market Cap Declines By N15 Billion In Daily Performance

The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), which closed the day at N35,540 trillion, decreased by N15 billion (0.04%) as a result of the day's performance. 

The All-share Index (ASI), which was down 27.06 points from its previous finish of 65,336.71 points on Monday, continued its trend.  

Since the year's beginning, the stock market has impressively increased by 14,058.59 points, representing a return of 27.43%.

The NGX All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 65,309.65 points, a -0.04% fall for the day. The index has increased by +27.43% so far this year.

The market capitalisation stood at an astonishing N35.54 trillion, demonstrating the market's power and scope.

Trading activity continued active, with 317.81 million shares worth N4.47 billion changing hands.

Market activity was strong, with 6,376 transactions completed throughout the session, indicating a lively and busy trading environment.

GUINNESS was the best performance today, with a 10% increase in its share price, finishing at N60.50 per share, while NSLTECH was the worst, with a 10% loss in its share price, closing at N0.27 per share. 

ACCESSCORP was the most traded stock in terms of volume and value, exchanging 49.36 million shares in transactions totaling N861.16 million. 

Fewer investors participated in the market today, as trading activity fell by 574 deals from the previous day's recorded value of 6,950 to 6,376 deals on Tuesday. 

GUINNESS, GLAXOSMITH, and CHELLARAM were the top gainers for the day, with share prices rising by 10.00%, 9.74%, and 9.73%, respectively, to conclude the day at N60.50, N10.70, and N3.72 per share. 

NSLTECH, NNFM, and JOHNHOLT, on the other hand, had the highest decreases of the day, with losses of 10.00%, 9.89%, and 9.52%, respectively. 

Trading activity in the market continued in a negative from yesterday’s closing day, buoyed by a notable 14.94% decline in the total value of shares traded from N3.89 billion to N4.47 billion. 

volume of shares traded also fell by 4.94% to 317.81 million, from the 334.33 million shares traded on the exchange on Monday. 

The top three stocks by volume were ACCESSCORP, STERLINGNG and UNIVINSURE. STERLINGNG had the highest volume of 49.35 million shares, followed by STERLINGNG with 43.82 million shares, and UNIVINSURE with 28.86 million shares. 

More investor interest was reported in STERLINGNG, as it became the market's most active stock, with a total turnover of N197.26 million.

FCMB came in second with a trade value of N173.84 million, followed by FIDELITYBK with a trade value of N150.84 billion. 

The SWOOTs group had a profitable trading day, with their earnings increasing significantly. The market values of ZENITH BANK, GTCO, and UBA increased by 0.8%, 0.5%, and 0.2%, respectively. 

In the most recent trading session, the stock prices of AIRTEL AFRICA, DANGOTE CEMENT, MTN NIGERIA, BUA FOODS, and BUA CEMENT stayed constant.

Despite the swings in other equities, these companies maintained their market rankings. 

The top five banks in the industry increased their earnings, with ZENITHBANK leading the field with a 0.8% gain, followed by GTCO and FBNH with 0.5% and 0.4% increases, respectively, and ACCESSHOLDINGS and UBA both increasing their earnings by 0.2%.
