NSE Market Summary: Linkage Assurance Tops Gainers List As T

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market closed with 3,990 deals on Wednesday with trade volumes reaching a total of 347,173,467 units at market closing.

The value of trades recorded on Wednesday edged lower toN2,803,263,597.35 from Tuesday's N3,268,817,643.90, bringing the All-Share Index down 221.98 points or 0.57% to 39,045.13.

Top Five Gainers
Linkage Assurance Plc
 led the top gainers' chart after its stock price gained 10 percent or 6kobo to close trading at 0.66 kobo per share according to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market data seen by AllNews.

Prestige Assurance Plc came second on the chart, as its stock price climbed 9.76 percent, or 4kobo, to close the market at 45 kobo per share, having opened trading at 41kobo per share.

Meyer Plc was tied on the second spot, also gaining 9.76 percent, or 4kobo, to close the market at 45 kobo per share, having opened trading at 41kobo per share.

NEM Insurance Plc gained 9.52 percent (20kobo) to be the fourth top advancer in the market today, closing at N2.30kobo per share.

Guinness Nig Plc was number five on the list as its share price gained N2.30 kobo, or 7.28 percent to close trading at N33.90 per share.

Top Five Losers
DAAR Communications Plc
 topped the decliners' list for Wednesday, as the company's stock fell by 8.7 percent to close at 21kobo per share at the end of trading.

Wema Bank Plc came second on the list, closing at 57 kobo per share to post a loss of 8.06 percent.

University Press Plc recorded a 7.76 percent drop as it lost 9 kobo to close at N1.07 kobo per share.

UACN Property Development's share price fell by 6 kobo to record a 7.23 percent drop, as its share price closed trading at 77 kobo per share.

Japaul Gold & Ventures Plc completed the list after it closed trading with a 6.82 percent loss of 3kobo to stand at 44kobo per share.

Top Five Trades
AllNews learned that the most traded in the stock market for Wednesday 31st March 2021 is Wema Bank Plc, having a trading volume of over 94 million units valued at over  N53.37 million.

Union Bank of Nigeria Plc is the second on the list with a volume of over 78.9 million units valued at over NGN418 million.

Third on the list is Zenith Bank having traded with over 22 million units valued at over N500 million.

FBN Holdings Plc was the fourth most traded stock today, closing the market with almost N12 million units traded at over NGN87 million.

Guaranty Trust Bank Plc completes the top five list with 10.7 million units traded at NGN352.7 million.
