NSHA Directs SSG Office To Return Vehicles Purchased By Gove

The Office of the Secretary to the State Government has been directed to return two Hilux vehicles purchased by the government to the Nasarawa State Teachers Service Commission (TSC).  

The Committee on Education, Science and Technology of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) gave the directive when the management of TSC appeared before the committee on its 2023 budget defence on Tuesday in Lafia. 

Daniel Ogah Ogazi, the Chairman of the Committee said that the vehicles were purchased for the TSC to ensure effective monitoring and supervision of teachers and other activities. 

“We are directing that the office of the SSG should return two vehicles purchased by the state government for the Teacher’s Service Commission.

“As provision was made in the budget as requested by Teachers Service Commission for the purchase of the two vehicles to monitor and supervise the activities of teachers and other activities."

Ogazi urged the commission to continue to be up and doing in ensuring effective supervision of teachers in the state.

Also appearing before the committee, the management of Nasarawa State Vocational and Relevant Technology Board led by its General Manager, Dr. Idris Umar Idris said it appreciated Governor Sule and the committee for their efforts in tackling youths restiveness in the state.

“I want to thank you and His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, for supporting our us” he said.

The General Manager said that the mandate of the board was to train the youths in different skills in order to tackle unemployment and restivenss among youths.

“We have trained so many youths and still planning to train more in different skills in order to enable them become self reliant,” he added

The Chairman of the Committee,  Daniel Ogah Ogazi, assured of effective synergy with the state government in order to tackle youth restiveness and unemployment in the state.

Ogazi said that the board is one of the agencies that is taking the youths off  the streets in the state, hence the need of the committee’s readiness to support the board at all times to succeed.
