The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed no fewer than 1,560 corps members to Bayelsa State.
The corps members who are part of the scheme's 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream II were welcomed into the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Boro Town, Kaiama community, in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the state.
The Acting State Chief Judge, Justice Maltide Abrakasa Ayemieye and Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, who presided over the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony of the corps members guaranteed the corps members of adequate security and welfare throughout their stay.
Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, and Chairman of the NYSC State Governing Board, who represented the Governor, reiterated that the state has zero tolerance for truancy and lateness to work at the Corps members’ Places of Primary Assignments (PPA).
In her remark, the State Coordinator, Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, appreciated the Governor, the government and the people of Bayelsa State for the support extended to the scheme.
