The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Muhammad Fadah, has schooled corp members deployed to Akwa-Ibom State on the need for skill acquisition.
Fadah, represented by the State Coordinator, Chinyere Ekwe advised the corp members during the swearing-in ceremony of 2022 Batch ‘B’, Stream 1 corps members at NYSC Orientation Camp, Ikot Itie Udung, Nsit Atai Local Government Area, on Tuesday.
The Coordinator urged the students to leverage the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) while in camp to help them to be dependent as white-collar jobs are no longer available.
She added that they should report any suspicious activities they suspect on the campground to the authorities
”White-collar jobs are no longer available and you should embrace the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), to be self-reliant.
“You are strongly advised to be security conscious at all times and to report any suspicious character or activities around you to the appropriate authorities.
Earlier, Ekwe encourage the corp members to maintain a high level of discipline, noting that ”the regimented nature of the camp was intended to instil discipline and build resilience.
