NYSC members charged to join anti-corruption fight

Members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, have been enjoined to join in the fight against corruption.

This call was made by Winifred Ngobro, a representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission, ICPC, at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede, Osun State.

Ngboro who was addressing members of the NYSC 2024 Batch A Stream II deployed to the state expounded on the pivotal role of the ICPC in dealing with corruption-related practices within the society. 

According to her, "the ICPC's mandate empowers it to conduct system studies within government agencies to ensure adherence to established procedures and protocols.

"The major functions of the ICPC encompass enforcement, investigation of reported offences and the prosecution of culpable individuals."

She also focused on mobilisation efforts aimed at fostering behavioural change among youths. 

Drawing a cue from other developed countries, she emphasised the significant benefits drivable from a corrupt free society.

She also urged Nigerians to replicate similar efforts. 

"I urge you to engage with the ICPC official website, ICPC.gov.ng."
