Obama Describes Trump's Response To Pandemic As Chaotic

Former US president, Barack Obama, has described current US president's, Donald Trump, handling of the coronavirus outbreak as an “absolute chaotic disaster.”

The characterization of Trump's management of the disease by Obama was revealed in a leaked web call with former members of the Obama administration, in that call, Obama could be heard saying that the US Department of Justice's (DOJ) decision to drop the charges against Trump's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn was a danger to the rule of law in the US.

Obama said, “What we’re fighting against is these long-term trends in which being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy — that has become a stronger impulse in American life.

“It’s part of the reason why the response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty.

“It would have been bad even with the best of governments. It has been an absolute chaotic disaster when that mindset — of ‘what’s in it for me’ and ‘to heck with everybody else’ — when that mindset is operationalized in our government.

“I am hoping that all of you feel the same sense of urgency that I do.”
