OBITUARY: NFF Loses Former President, Oneya

Former President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Retired Brigadier General Dominic Onyea is dead at the age of 73.

Oneya who was the boss of the Federation between 1999-2002 died on Thursday morning in his house at Effurun GRA in the Local Government Area of Delta.

The current Federation president Amaju Pinnick confirmed his death.

General Dominic who was born on May 26 1948 hailed from Ughelli LGA in Delta 

He served in various capacities in CAF committees and recently headed the Ministerial Committee on Reforms in Nigerian Football

Oneya was from 1996 to 1998 military administrator of Kano State.

The late army general was also the military administrator of Benue State during the reign of Abdulsalami Abubakar between 1998 and 1999.
