#OccupyLekkiTollgate: Presidency Hails Nigerian Police

The Presidency has applauded the Nigerian Police Force for protecting protesters at the Lekki Tollgate on Saturday.

Buhari’s aide Lauretta Onochie in a tweet stated that nobody was hurt.

AllNews Nigeria recalls that popular comedian, Mr. Macaroni and at least 39 protesters were arrested by police at the Tollgate, stripped naked, beaten, and dehumanized.

After some hours, the police said they were arrested for inciting violence and flouting COVID-19 guidelines.

Lauretta thanked the Nigerian police for the professional manner it operated, says it is the best of all, no police officer was killed during the protest.

She wrote on Twitter: "Kudos to the @PoliceNG  for the professional manner it operated at Lekki yesterday. NOBODY WAS HURT

"Best of all, no Police officer was killed nor roasted and eaten

"We must applaud you for doing well so that you can take our criticisms of your shortcomings in good faith.
THANK YOU"
