Ogun Announces Road Closure From Construction Work

The Ogun State Government has announced the closure and diversion of traffic along Lafenwa railway crossing, Lafenwa-rounder road, Abeokuta.

The closure is to allow the contractor handling the project to construct drainage beneath the rail tracks and make it seamless for the removal and replacement of the tracks by the officials of Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC).

A release signed by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya, stated that the closure and diversion would take effect from 7 am to 7 pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

Akinsanya who revealed that the diversion of traffic was imperative to fix the road, advised motorists going towards Lafenwa–Rounder road to go through Olomore-Sanni road and exit through Sanni Araromi junction, 

Also, motorists coming from Rounder road were advised to navigate through Sanni Olomore to continue their journey.

He explained that the closure was important to ensure safety of motorists and citizens of the State, noting that the Traffic Compliance Enforcement Agency (TRACE) would be on ground to manage traffic flow to minimise inconvenience on the part of the road users.

Akinsanya solicited the support and cooperation of residents, while reiterating the State government’s commitment to the development of infrastructure within the state.
