Ogun: Fire Guts Chinese Company

There was a fire incident at a Chinese company located within the ASCON area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area in Ogun State on Monday.

PUNCH Metro reports that the early morning fire raised concerns and severely hampered business operations nearby.

It was discovered that the Chinese company made nylon, shoes, and bags.

The community's route leading to the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was closed.

It was also observed that the company was still on fire despite the presence of the state fire service.

The large fire, however, alarmed the locals, who noted that if no action was taken to put it out, it might start to spread.

"The fire has been like this for almost three hours; it will only take some time before it spread to houses around the factory," a local just known as Lawrence said.

The Director of the Ogun State Fire Service, Fatai Adefala, however, said his men were making efforts to quench the fire.

He said, “We are aware of the situation and we are doing everything possible to quench the fire.”
