Ogun Police Arrest Four Over Plan To Kill Pregnant Woman

The Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Wasiu Eluyera, for conniving and planning with his friend, Adeniyi Samuel, to kill his pregnant ex-wife.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer said in a statement on Monday, that the suspect who was married to Taiwoseparated from her and got married to another woman.

According to DSP Oyeyemi, in order not to upset his new wife, Eluyera asked his ex-wife to terminate the pregnancy, a suggestion that was rejected by her.

“Having tried all he could to abort the pregnancy, Eluyera decided to eliminate the woman and the pregnancy," he said.

The PPRO added that the suspect and his accomplice were arrested following a distress call by the Divisional Police Officer, Ogijo on January 1, 2022. Oyeyemi said the two men were engaged in serious physical combat and both were arrested.

“It was during interrogation to know the cause of the fight that Adeniyi Samuel opened up and informed the police that Eluyera contracted him to kill his ex-wife who was pregnant."

He added that Eluyera promised to give him N10,000 for the job, out of which he already gave him N5,000. Eluyera then claimed when Samuel didn’t carry out the assignment as agreed, he demanded a refund of the advance payment he made to him, and his refusal led to the fight.

Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the case.
