Ogun: Registration Of Retired Police Officers Into The NHIS

Registration into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for all retired officers of the Nigerian Police Force will begin today Monday 14th of September 2020 in Ogun State.

AllNews learnt that the Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi stated that the registration exercise would take place in all the area commands starting from 8 am daily till Saturday, 19th of September 2020.

“The state police command wishes to inform all retired police officers living in the state to report at the nearest police area command to them for registration into the National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS) scheduled to commence on Monday, 14th of September.

“The registration is part of welfare package approved by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammad Adamu NPM, mni for the retired officers who have meritoriously served their fatherland to have access to good health care service at no cost.

“The retired officers are to come along with their National Identity Card Number (NIN), retirees identity card, letter of retirement, one passport photograph and that of their spouses."

Meanwhile, the IGP has expressed his unfettered appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, for extending the National Health Insurance Scheme to retired Police officers.

He noted that the development will help address the age-long quest for affordable healthcare services for Police retirees and enjoined the senior citizens to take optimum advantage of the scheme.
