Ogun SDP Guber Candidate Steps Aside For Adebutu

The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ogun State, Anthony Ojeshina has announced his support for Ladi Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.

The decision is coming more than one week to the gubernatorial election in the state 

Ojeshina made this announcement in a press conference in Abeokuta on Thursday.

He noted that a collaboration was needed in order to take the people’s power from the cabal at Oke Mosan.

While explaining that the cardinal vision of the party is to rebirth a new state through social justice and sustainable development in making Ogun a new model state, he said the party has agreed to work with PDP.

“Following our extensive campaign across the nooks and crannies of the state over the last 10 months, interacting with the real people of Ogun, it is clear that this vision is well aligned with the true yearning of the people and goes beyond the aspiration of one individual or political party.

“Moreover, in order to take the people’s power from the cabal at Oke Mosan, there is a need to collaborate across the political divide.

“Consequently, our great party (SDP) has agreed to work with PDP and other political parties during the gubernatorial election in order to wrestle power from the current deceptive government of APC.

“We sincerely believe the synergy between SDP and PDP will usher in a prosperous time for our people, anchored on the lofty vision of making Ogun an industrious model state in Nigeria, based on the ethos of Omoluabi."

Enjoining all supporters and members of the party to vote Adebutu, he explained that the party is not moving it members to PDP rather they are only asking them to join in the voting for Ladi Adebutu of the PDP.

“We are not collapsing our structure into PDP, SDP still remains, our house of assembly candidates still remaining we are only stepping down for the PDP governorship candidate for our state to move forward.

“We therefore enjoin all Ogun State registered voters, as well as supporters and members of our great party, to vote for PDP in the gubernatorial election," he said.
