Nigerians on social media are lamenting the ceaseless attacks by armed robbers on residents of Ogun communities amid the lockdown in major parts of Nigeria occasioned by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Allnews had exclusively reported how cultists cum armed robbers attack people of Ogba Ayo in Sango/Ijoko Local Council Development Area of Ogun State.
Allnews gathered that at least four persons have been killed by the armed robbers - many of them believed to be in their youth - in the last four days.
In fact, the neighbourhood of a reporter of Allnews was on Friday night ambushed.
On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari approved the release by the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) of 150 trucks of rice seized from smugglers to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development for distribution across the country.
In a similar vein, the Federal government said it has commenced the payment of cash palliative across the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of states of the federation. All these to cushion the effect of the stay-at-home directive on the vulnerable in the society.
But crime has taken its toll heavily on Ogba Ayo/Ijoko community most especially; with the residents now experiencing sleepless nights.
The crime, which residents said has been happening since last week, at times, occurs in broad daylight.

I just received series of armed robbery reports in several parts of Ogun state. At a time like this, security of lives & properties should be the least of the problem.
I heard some arrests were made yesterday but @PoliceNG need to beef up security. @dabiodunMFR

Majority of the robbers are those boys that carry luggages at the Park and their anger is that the government asked them to stay at home without giving them food or money.
The Robbery Won’t stop @dabiodunMFR until Armed Forces are deployed to those Areas!!! ?

Okay, so their rationale for doing this is because the government asked us to stay at home without giving us food or money.
I think these guys are just uneducated and dumb tbh, because how is robbing people who are in the same dilemma as you a solution?#OgunUnrest

Never been this scared. Everyone is outside vigilant, but the truth is if these boys invade, we have nothing to protect ourselves.#OgunUnrest pic.twitter.com/s5vZOclTUb

The reality is right here in our face. Our worst fears are beginning to manifest. This #Lockdown would bring about an increase in crime. Hoodlums would capitalize. #OgunUnrest is a testament to this fact. @PoliceNG need to do more to protect the people while we #StayHome

Came online to see #OgunUnrest trending. This has been some of the fears we expressed might happen during lockdown & asked security agents do the needful.
This is just beginning and would spread across the country if nothing is done by government. Anarchy is looming in our Nation
