Okada Ban: Lagos To Inaugurate Anti-Okada Squad

In preparation for the ban of commercial motorcyclists popularly known as 'Okada' riders, the Lagos State Government has finalised the inauguration of an Anti-Okada Squad to enforce its decision.

Babatunde Saw-Olu, the Lagos State Governor ha recently announced the ban of commercial okada riders in six Local Government Areas (LGA) and nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) which according to him would commence on June 1, 2022.

Dr. Fredrick Oladeinde, Commissioner for Transportation, on Tuesday said the reason for the anti-Okada squad is to ensure that the riders abide by the order given by the state Governor.

“In line with the commencement of the ban of motorcycle operations within (6) LGs and the respective LCDAs under them, the Ministry of Transportation is Inaugurating an Anti-Okada Squad.

“The event is taking place by 2.00 pm at Adeyemi Bero Hall, the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja,” Oladeinde said
