Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, has subscribed to premium dragging over his new movie 'Oko Iyabo' which replicated the Baba Ijesha sexual assault saga for distorting the facts in support of Baba Ijesha.
Recall that Baba Ijesha was picked up by men of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly molesting an underaged girl.
The actor was arraigned before the Special Offences Court in Lagos on charges of sexual assault, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault by penetration and later granted bail in the sum of N2 million naira.
However, Fabiyi took sides with Baba Ijesha while Nollywood stars including Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing took the side of the young victim.
In the movie, Fabiyi made use of real names of all the people enmeshed in the sexual scandal including himself, Baba Ijesha's real name (Lanre), Iyabo, and Princess. The movie opened with young Iyabo who said her future ambition is to be a prostitute owing to her dysfunctional family.
Oko Iyabo, however, portrayed Baba Ijesha as the actual victim of spite and the young girl as his consenting lover.
The project features prominent Yoruba movie stars including Adewale Elesho and Lola Idije.
Reacting to the movie, Nigerians on social media have slammed Fabiyi for his insensitivity and his attempt to distort the real facts of the case. They also mass reported the movie which was uploaded on Oleku TV and as of the time of this writing, it has been brought down.
