Olakunle Oluomo, the Speaker of the Ogun State House Assembly, was arraigned before the Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday over an alleged N4.4 billion fraud.
Oluomo was charged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and was arraigned alongside others including the Director of Finance of the State Assembly, Oladayo Samuel, as well as the Clerk of the House, Adeyemo Taiwo.
They all pleaded not guilty to the 11-count charge brought against them.
Daniel Osiagor, the presiding judge in the case, ordered that they be remanded in EFCC custody for a one-week period to perfect their bail.
According to Osiagor, they will be transferred to the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Abeokuta if they fail to meet their bail conditions.
Giving his ruling on their bail applications, Osiagor granted Oluomo bail in the sum of N300 million to two sureties, while the 2nd and 3rd Defendants, Oladayo Samuel, Adeyemo Taiwo were granted bail in the sum of N100 million with two sureties in like sum.
