‘Olamide Is A Special Artiste’ — M.I Abaga [Video]

Veteran rapper M.I Abaga has once again hailed his colleague Olamide, describing him as a special artiste.

He said this at the listening party of his album ‘The Guy’.

While speaking on how he collaborated with Olamide and Nas on the third track ‘Bigger’, M.I said that Olamide, despite being on tour at the time, sent him the track’s hook very fast.

“I wondered if Badoo would give me a hook. So I sent it to him. This is how the message went.

"I was like ‘Bro, I know you are busy right now; he was on a tour. I have something, maybe a hook’.

“He was like; ‘if it is a hook, I can do it right away’. When I tell you right away. The next day we had this chorus."

He also mentioned that Olamide is on the same level as veterans like Fela Anikulapo Kuti and King Sunny Ade when it comes to the history of Nigerian music.

M.I also added that he is a huge fan of the ‘Eni Duro’ rapper.

“What a special artiste. Honestly, I see him getting his flowers online.

"I keep telling him every time I see him that I’m the hugest Badoo fan.

"But I really think we are all blessed to witness such a great artiste.

“Like, I was talking to someone yesterday, I said in the history of Nigerian music, Yoruba artistes have contributed so much.

"And he is up there with the greats of all time. This guy is with the Felas and the King Sunny Ades.

“This guy has just given him so much quality music.”
