Olympic Lyonnais defeats Lille 2-1 in Coup De France contest

Nigeria talent and January new signing Gift Orban was on the score sheet as his Lyon side defeated the Lille 2-1 in the Coup De France challenge on Wednesday night.

Despite the early exchanges where both sides were eager to impress for their respective side, it couldn't produce a goal in the contest.

The home side had to wait till the 40th minute to grab the opening goal of the contest. The Nigerian prospect Orban opened the scoring to gift his side a 1-0 lead in the contest.

Rayan Cherki assisted Orban for the first goal. It finished 1-0 in favour of Olympic Lyon at the break.

After the restart, Rayan Cherki netted with just two minutes played to make it 2-0 for the host Olympic Lyonnais.

However, the visitors Lille went in search of a goal and found the breakthrough in the 53rd minute.

Alexsandro Riberio netted the goal to reduce the deficit to 2-1 and he was assisted by his teammate Edon Zhegrova.

It finished 2-1 at the end of the contest with Lyon advancing at the expense of the visiting Lille LOSC side.
