Ondo Children Have Been In Church Basement For Six Months - Ekimogun Youths

A group, Ekimogun Youths Connect, has revealed that scores of children found in the basement of the Bible Believers Church in Ondo town  have been kept there for over six months.

The victims, who were said to be 77, were alleged to have been kept in the church’s confinement and they as well as the pastors and some members of the church.

They were taken to the state police headquarters for interrogation on Saturday.

The group, in a statement issued by Lucas Famakinwa, its President stated that it swung into action together with the police and the Amotekun officers to rescue the victims.

“About 14:00hrs of Friday 1st of July, 2022, I was reliably informed that a particular Church in Valentino, Ondo City, called ‘Ondo Church’, locked people up in the church for over six months, telling them that Jesus Christ will come and meet them by September this year.

“The National President of the Great Constitutional Rights and Justice Forum, in the person of Comrade Omotayo Omolayo, was also briefed and we mobilized down to the venue and we met about 77 people locked up in the church.

“The church has rooms where the pastor locked his members.

"The process of rescuing these ones with the help of Police officers, Amotekun, Atariajanaku, and vigilante group, caused a lot of pandemonium and the people under lock started beating us.

“The pastor, the church workers, and the people under lock have been arrested and whisked to Akure the state Capital."

Information revealed on Saturday that some children were discovered in a church basement in Valentino area of Ondo town.

The name of the church where the children were found is known as Ondo Church.

Information available to AllNews Nigeria also indicated that the founder of the church is now late and the leadership was passed onto another pastor.

Also, the children discovered in the church basement have all been brainwashed and told that the end of the world is near.

It was also revealed that efforts of the parents of the children who were former church members to get their children over the period of weeks have proved abortive.
