Ondo Decides 2020: ADC Chairman, Others Dump Party For APC

Ahead of the Governorship election scheduled for October 10 in Ondo State, the Chairman of  African Democratic Congress (ADC) Tokunbo Adetoro and some members of the party have defected to All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ADC defectors were received by Ade Adetimehin the Ondo APC chairman at the party's secretariat in Akure on Saturday.

Promising to work with  APC at the forthcoming governorship election, Adetoro said that the decision to collapse the party structure of ADC  for the re-election bid of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu the candidate of APC, was due to the performance of the Akeredolu led government across the state.

“We will work for the success of the APC in Saturday’s election because Governor Akeredolu deserves a second term,” Adetoro said.

Adetimehin who welcomed the defected ADC members said that they took the right step in the right direction.

According to him, the defection would further boost the chances of the ruling party at the next week's election.

Akeredolu will be contesting against Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  his current Deputy Ajayi Agboola of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and fourteen others at the October 10 governorship election.
