Ondo Decides 2020: Akeredolu Declares Friday Work-Free Day A

Ahead of the Ondo State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, October 10, Rotimi Akeredolu the Executive Governor of Ondo State has declared Friday, October 9 work-free day.

Making this announcement in a statement on Thursday, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said all workers in the state's public service should observe the public holiday.

Ojogo, in the statement, explained that the holiday was given to enable workers to prepare adequately for the Saturday election.

“The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN has directed that Friday, October 9, 2020 be observed as work-free for workers in the State Public Service.

 “The governor’s decision comes on the heels of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2020. It is specifically approved to enable workers have enough time to embark on adequate measures aimed at preparing themselves for the Election,” the statement read in part.
