Ondo Government Inaugurates 24-man Committee On State Health

The Ondo State Government on Wednesday in Akure inaugurated a 24-man planning committee to coordinate programmes and activities designed to ensure the overall success of the planned Ondo state Health Summit.

The committee has the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Mrs. Folukemi Aladenola, as the Chairperson, while Dr Uche Odionyenma, the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Ministry of Health, is the committee’s Secretary

Other members of the were drawn from the various Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and health institutions in the state.

Inaugurating the committee, Aladenola said the main objective of the summit would be to formulate a viable health policy that would provide a direction for the state’s health sector.

She noted that the summit would promote a well-coordinated health sector that would ensure continuity and sustainability of programmes and policies.

As an assembly of technocrats and key stakeholders in the health sector, Aladenola said that the summit was expected to brainstorm on a policy document that would help to move the state’s health sector forward.

Similarly, the summit, she added, would serve a template for the state to develop a unified position at the 2022 National Council on Health meeting.

She, therefore, charged members of the committee to be focused and committed to the overall success of the summit.

The Secretary of the committee, Odionyenma said members of the committee would put in their best into the assignment, in order to move the state’s health sector forward.
