PDP rolls out timetable for Ondo guber polls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee has released their poll agenda for the Ondo State gubernatorial elections.

Allnews.ng had reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set November 16th, 2024 as the date for the state governorship election.

According to sources, the timeline was posted on a notice board at the PDP's national office, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja on Monday. It was signed by Umar Bature, the party's national organising secretary.

According to the schedule, the party's congress, which will determine its governorship candidate, will be placed on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

"The sale of expression of interest, nomination forms, and Ad-hoc forms is slated for March 7 – March 21. March 25 is the deadline for submitting a completed expression of interest and Ad-hoc forms,” the timetable partly stated.

According to the PDP agenda, gubernatorial candidates will be inspected on March 27 at the party's National Secretariat in Abuja. The deadline for submitting screening reports is March 29.

It also established April 2, 2024, as the date for appeals regarding the screening process. The Ward Congress will be held on April 6-7 to elect three Ad-hoc Ward Delegates. Ward congress appeals are scheduled for April 10.

The instructions also say that the Independent National Electoral Commission will receive the governorship candidate's name by May 20. Additionally, the party's NWC will certify the deputy governorship candidate on May 9.
