Ondo Lawmaker Commences Distribution Of Free Books To School

Member of Ondo State House of Assembly representing Okitipupa Constituency I, Hon Chris Ayebusiwa has commenced the distribution of free books to the pupils of all public primary schools within his constituency.

The distribution of the reading and writing items, tagged 'Back To School' project, began on Thursday with Community Primary School, Mobolorunduro 49 and St. Anthony’s RCM, Omotosho, in Okitipupa local government area of the state.

Recall that Hon Ayebusiwa had announced the plan to make the provision to the pupils as a way to ease the financial burden of parents and guardians toward the resumption of the new academic session.

The pupils who benefited from the various public schools thanked Hon Ayebusiwa for the gesture. In her words, Nifemi Obolo, a student of L. A . Primary School, Iju Odo, Okitipupa local government, said: "Thank you Honourable Chris; God bless you, Sir."  Ademujimi Ojo, of the Methodist Primary School, Igbotako, Okitipupa local government area, said: " God bless our MHA. We are happy to receive the books."

Meanwhile, the lawmaker had similarly distributed free exercise books to schools in Okitipupa Constituency I ahead of his election to the Ondo State House of Assembly.

Speaking on the project, Hon Ayebusiwa who chairs the House Standing Committee on Tertiary Institutions, said: "We feel obligated to make material donations to pupils, particularly for the indigent ones, as our own meagre contribution to their educational pursuit."
