Two persons have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly killing a suspected ‘Yahoo boy’ Olorunfemi Temitope on Monday.

Allnews Nigeria had reported that the Toyota the late Olorunfemi was driving rammed into six persons in the Ijoka Area of Akure, the capital of Ondo State, killing four of them.

Eyewitnesses claimed that after rushing to the scene, sympathizers discovered fetish items inside the Toyota which made them stone him to death.

His parents were attacked as well since they had hurried to the scene to save their son's life.

The parents were in danger of being lynched alongside their son until police officers arrived.

The Ondo Police spokesman, SP Funmilayo Odunlami Omisanya, confirmed the arrest of the two suspects.

She stressed that an investigation into the matter had commenced.

The Police in a statement on Monday also debunked suspicions that the late Olorunfemi was an internet fraudster.

"We need to see ourselves as one and love each other. We should first see ourselves as human beings before becoming either commercial motorcyclists, policemen or any other professionals.

"As of now, no one can confirm if the dead young man in question was an internet fraudster.

“Rather than people around to have helped when the accident happened, some resolved to jungle justice by killing the young man and setting his car ablaze.

“We need to refrain from engaging in jungle justice, shun hearsay and report any incident to the nearby police station so that there will be peace in our community,” Omisanya said.
