Ondo State: Police Rescue Abducted Military Officer

The Ondo State police command has announced the release of Capt. D. L. Gana, attached to SVP 33 Brigade, Bauchi who was abducted on May 11, 2020.

The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Mr Undie Adie, on Thursday, confirmed the rescue in a statement.

According to reports, Gana and three others were kidnapped on May 11 around Auga Akoko/Ibilo road in Akoko North West Local Government area of Ondo state while travelling from Abuja to Ibadan on official assignment.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Tee-Lee Ikoro, in Akure, noted that the victim was released following the heated pressure from the police and the military.

He was however rescued along Imoga/Ibilo area in Edo state unhurt and safe to his family.

The police commissioner commended the efforts of his men and their military counterparts and urged resident to always disclose any unfamiliar cases that may threaten the security of the state.
