Ondo Varsity SUG Advises Students To Be Security Conscious

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo State has advised students to be watchful and security conscious as the institution resumes after the Christmas and New Year break.

SUG president Olumide Faluyi gave the hint while welcoming students back to the campus after the break on Wednesday in Okitipupa.

Faluyi also advised the students to peacefully report any suspicious activities to the security department of the institution.

"Our students have been facing some security challenges as our attention has been drawn to various forms of extortion and intimidation by some uncanny individuals.

“I urge students to be vigilant and security conscious at all times and report any criminal activities to the institution's security department.

“I also advise the students to promote peace through virtue and refrain from protests that can disrupt academic pursuit,” he said.

The SUG President also commended the student for their endless support, appealing to them to work together with the institution's authority to achieve progress.

OAUSTECH resumed for the 2022 second semester academic session on January 3 but commenced lectures on January 9, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
