One Killed, 4 Injured As Amotekun Clashes With Hoodlums In O

In a clash between Amotekun and suspected hoodlums in Osun State, a man identified as Adam was reportedly shot dead, while four others were injured during the clash.

The incident happened on Friday in the Balogun Agoro area of Osogbo, as Amotekun operatives went to the area to retrieve some tools seized by a group of hoodlums that had earlier attacked a construction site at Olaiya area of Osogbo.

According to PUNCH, this led to an altercation when the hoodlums refused to release the tools, and pounced on the Amotekun operatives, stabbing one of them on the head. It further revealed that the agency patrol van brought to the area was also damaged.

Brigadier General Bashir Adewimbi (retired), the state Commandant, Osun Amotekun Corps, said in his statements on Saturday that;

"A group of hoodlums attacked Amotekun men who were in the area on assignment. One of the operatives had to shoot into the air to disperse the hoodlums and ensure that they escape from the area."

"In the process, one of the hoodlums was hit and, unfortunately, later died."

"Police and other security operatives have been stationed in the area to ensure that law and order are maintained."
