One Killed As Police, Soldiers Clash In Adamawa

Following a fight that erupted between operatives of the Nigerian Police Force and Soldiers along Numan road in Adamawa state, one soldier has been killed.

The fight which led to exchange of fire claimed the life of the soldier on duty.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the police command in Yola, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, said the commissioner of police in the state, Sikiru Akande has ordered for the arrest of the police men involved.

Nguroje added that a comprehensive investigation on the matter has been ordered by the CP.

He said the CP assures that justice shall be served at the end of the investigation.

The CP frowned against the unfortunate incident adding that attack on security operatives would not be tolerated again.

CP Akande further reiterated the police command's commitment towards protecting lives and properties adding that there was need to work together with other security outputs to secure officers in their line of duty.

The CP further called for calm while ensuring that both security outfits involved are doing all that is needed legally to ensure justice is served.
