One Sri Lankan Killed, Set Ablaze In Pakistan

A Sri Lankan factory manager has been reported to be beaten to death and set on fire by mobs in Pakistan. The unfortunate incident happened today, Friday.

It was believed that the manager was accused of tearing down a poster with Islamic holy verses. Clips shared online showed the victim being beaten and set ablaze. The attackers never hid their identity as they took pictures in front of the burning corpse.

Hassaan Khawar, the government's spokesman of Punjab said that the police has arrested over 50 suspects linked to the case. He stated that the CCTV footage is being looked into to unravel the identities of the culprits.

Mob killings over accusations of blasphemy have taken over Pakistan, as the penalty for the crime carries a death sentence.
