Onuachu Allays Fears Over Ankle Injury

Nigerian international Paul Onuachu has allayed the fears of Trabzonspor’s fans over an ankle injury sustained during his side's Super Lig clash against Besiktas on Sunday.

Trabzonspor beat Besiktas 3-0 at home, with the on-loan Southampton striker opening the scoring for the hosts.

The 29-year-old headed home Enis Bardhi’s cross a minute after half an hour and was replaced by Enis Destan after two minutes in the second half.

“I am proud to score a goal in my first match,” Onuachu told A Spor. Everyone fought hard. I think my injury is not very serious.

"I left the game to prevent it from getting worse."

Trabzonspor are now hoping that he will be available to face Hatayaspor in their next league game on Monday.

Nenad Bjelica’s side are currently fourth in the early standings with nine points from five matches.
