Operatives Intercept Councilor With Ak-47 Near Bandits' Den

Security operatives have Intercepted a Soba local government councilor with Ak-47 near a bandits' den in Giwa LGA of Kaduna state.

The councilor was identified as Abdul Adamu Kinkiba.

According to sources, Kinkiba was intercepted on a motorcycle close to the bandits' den terrorising communities.

Sources revealed that the councilor said he received the gun from someone whose  name could not remember.

Daily Trust reports that a vigilante source stated: "He was told that the gun was meant for the convoy of someone.

"According to him, he was instructed to park immediately after the bridge near Galadimawa forest (a known hideout of bandits), where somebody would collect the gun.”

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Soba local government who was shocked over the incident confirmed the suspect as the councilor from Kinkiba ward in the LGA.

He further declined to speak further about the incident attributing his silence to the shock of getting the information.

The suspect had already been transferred to the headquarters of the Nigerian Police Command in Kaduna State.
