The Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in the North-East, Major General Christopher Musa has visited troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade (29 TF Bde) in Borno State.
The visit was in the Theatre Command's effort to intensify the fight against terrorism in the subregion and boost troops' morale.
The Theatre Commander was received by the Sector 2 Commander, Major General K. A Isoni and other senior officers of the sector.
During the visit, the Commander 29 TF Bde, Brigadier General E.O Ojabo briefed the Theatre Commander on the activities of the Brigade.
Thereafter, Musa took a tour of Units and Formations under the Bde where he equally addressed troops and assessed their deployment.
He assured troops of more support from the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya in providing the requisite logistics and platforms needed to enable them to neutralize all terrorists within the area.
He further expressed satisfaction with their performance and turnout.
Maj. Gen. Musa also urged the troops to remain focused towards achieving the task of restoring peace in the Northeast.
He further called on them to justify the confidence reposed on them by the Service Chiefs.
The Theatre Commander also noted that with the 2023 general election getting closer, the troops ought to remain apolitical and maintain their professional ethics.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the officers and men of the 29 TF Bde, Brig Gen Ojabo pledged their commitment and determination to wipe out remnants of Boko Haram/ISWAP in Borno State and surrounding environs.
He further stressed that the troops will take the fight to the terrorists' enclaves.
