Orphanage Donations: Davido Pledges With His Life, See Why

Nigerian music sensation David 'Davido' Adeleke has vowed to make sure the N250 million he donated to orphanages across the country gets to them.

A Twitter user identified as @soibomari had said that she told her mum about Davido's charity pledge but her mum passionately kicked against it.

According to her, her mum said that the money will not get to the children in orphanage homes because the welfare officers will steal it.

"I told mum what Davido did and I've never seen her revolt so passionately against something. She said the money won't get to the children cos welfare officers steal all.

"I hate Nigeria. She said it's so bad that nurses never want to leave welfare homes when they're posted there."

In response, Davido pledged on his life to make sure the money is not stolen by welfare officers but will get to the children to whom it is intended.

"I will personally make sure this doesn't occur !! I put that on my life," he wrote.

Recall that Davido, on Wednesday, posted his account number on his social media page, tasking his friends and fans to send him money.

He was able to garner over N200 million in two days as his friends and fans did not disappoint.

In an update on Saturday, the 'Fia' crooner revealed that he will contribute the N200 million that his friends and fans gave him, as well as a personal donation of N50 million, to orphanages.

The N250 million would be handed to orphanages around the country, according to a statement he made available online. He stated that a five-person committee has been formed to oversee the disbursement of the monies.
