Ortom Eulogises Bongos At 80

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has congratulated music icon, Dr. Bongos Ikwue on his 80th birthday on Monday, describing him as a "living legend." 

Bongos is a Benue born music maestro celebrated for his iconic performance, whose legendary musical inspiration has remained indelible in the industry for more than 40 years.

Ortom in a congratulatory message said the musician has through his trade impacted positively on society.

"Through your music over the years, you have transformed the society and touched lives in many positive ways. This has made you a pathfinder and a great reformer who through your art has made the lives of many citizens worth living.

"This could be seen in your choice of themes in religions, cultures and educational backgrounds, and has created a global appeal that has influenced many generations.” 

“On behalf of the government and the good people of Benue state, I congratulate you, the pathfinder; Bongos Ikwue." 

Ortom however urged Ikwue to extend his knowledge and trade and inspiration to the younger generation saying “Yours is a story that is evergreen and must be sustained for the good and benefit of humanity."
