Remarkably, Osimhen helped guide Napoli to their first league title in over 30 years, scoring 26 goals and registering four assists in 32 league appearances for the Partenopei.
His goal tally in the just concluded campaign also earned him the Capocannoniere (Serie A Top Scorer Award), making him the first-ever African to achieve the feat.
It is equally on record that the Super Eagles forward netted five times in six appearances for his club in the UEFA Champions League, though Napoli failed to move past the quarter-finals stage.
As for his contenders, Bounou won the Europa League with Sevilla, Salah scored 30 goals and provided 16 assists in 51 games for Liverpool, while Mahrez is on the verge of winning the treble with Manchester City having scored 15 goals and registered 13 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.
