Osinachi Nwachukwu: Autopsy Test Begins As Senate Demands Justice

Osinachi Nwachukwu: Autopsy Test Begins As Senate Demands Ju

An autopsy on the remains of late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu has commenced, says the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.

The news was disclosed on Thursday and a source who spoke to Punch revealed that the autopsy which was supposed to have started on Wednesday was delayed because of the absence of some relatives of the deceased.

The FCT Command also added that the process started on Thursday at the National Hospital Abuja, where Osinachi Nwachukwu breathed her last.

"You know there have been speculations about her death. The husband is insisting that he died due to an illness.

"The autopsy was not done yesterday (Wednesday) because everyone had to be represented before they commence, but some people were absent, that was why they couldn’t do it. It is in stages, but I call tell you that the process commenced today", the source stated.

Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the development and added that the autopsy is part of the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, the police and other law enforcement agents have been urged by the senate to investigate the death of the singer and ensure that her family gets justice.

The call was made by the Senate President Ahmed Lawan in his remarks on Nwachukwu's passing before a moment of silence was held in her honour.

"The authorities should investigate the death of this citizen; the life of every citizen must matter. This is one death too many", Lawan said.
