Osinbajo To Finally Join 2023 Presidential Race

The Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) is set to officially declare his interest to contest for the office of Nigeria's president today under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Vice President is making his intentions open today following a long period of consultations.

The VP had met some governors of the APC including Malam Nasir El-Rufa'i of Kaduna State and Babajide-Sanwo Olu of Lagos state among others to discuss his intention yesterday.

Sources in the presidential Villa have revealed that Osinbajo will make his declaration today.

The sources further disclosed that many governors were present during the consultation that held at the vice president's house when he invited them for iftaar (breaking of fast).

However, the sources refused to disclose names of the other governors.

“The Vice President felt the need to inform the governors ahead of a planned public declaration Monday of his decision to contest presidency in 2023 under the APC platform," a source revealed.

The vice president is expected to continue consultations with stakeholders upon his declaration.
