Osun 2022: Islamic Group Backs Ogunbiyi, Kunle Jimoh

An Islamic organisation, Hasibunallahu, has endorsed the candidature of Akin Ogunbiyi and Kunle Jimoh of the Accord Party in Saturday's gubernatorial election.

Hasibunallahu in a statement signed by Jimoh Olawale, the Chairman and Amir of the group noted that its members have resolved to vote for the duo.

“We, the members of Hasibunallahu prayer group at home and in diaspora have resolved to back the gubernatorial ambition of Dr Akin Ogunbiyi and his Deputy Governorship candidate, Imam Mikhail Kunle Jimoh.

“We pledge our unflinching support towards their aspiration and have resolved to vote for them overwhelmingly on 16th July, 2022," the group said.

Also, the alumni association of University of Nigeria (UNN), Nsukka has sent a solidarity message to Ogunbiyi and his running mate, pledging their unalloyed support in the forthcoming poll.

In a statement signed jointly by the President and Secretary of the Osun State Chapter of UNN alumni association, Ogunbamiwo Henry and A. O. Adegoke, the group said the decision to support the Accord Party candidates was taken at its meeting of Monday, July, 2022 after a critical analysis of the ongoing electioneering campaigns in the state.

According to the association, the party’s deputy governorship candidate is a staunch member of the association in Osun and a member of the National Publicity committee.

"Kunle Jimoh is an asset, humble, honest, trustworthy, reliable and a good material to lifting Osun up from the decadence our past leaders had plunged the state into.

“All members of the UNNA family in the state should ensure adequate mobilisation of the citizens of the state and ensure they vote for our dear Lion.

“The National Leadership of UNAA under our amiable Lioness Chief Dr Linda Uchochi Agua-Onyekwelu had directed all UNNA members to ensure the victory of Lion Kunle Jimoh.

“The meeting also expressed their appreciation to the leadership of Accord and her teeming members in the state for the trust and belief in the capacity of Alhaji Kunle Jimoh as the party’s Deputy Governorship candidate in the coming election."
