Six aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have indicated interest for the Saturday, July 16 gubernatorial election in Osun State have received a nod from the National Secretariat of the party.
This was disclosed by Mohammed Adoke, Chairman of the PDP screening committee while submitting the committee’s report to Umaru Bature, the PDP National Organising Secretary, on Thursday in Abuja.
Adoke revealed that none of the aspirants was disqualified as all scaled the screening hurdles.
According to him, the six aspirants who were cleared by the screening committee include, Senator Ademola Adeleke; former Secretary to Osun State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade; Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Omirin Emmanuel Olusanya, Dele Adeleke and Prince Dotun Babayemi.
Adoke, a former Attorney General of the Federation, told the National Working Committee that the exercise was thoroughly conducted in line with party’s guidelines and constitution.
