Osun Amotekun Nabs Five Men Theft

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested five men for the theft of a motorcycle, a vehicle, and a vehicle engine.

The felons were apprehended by the operatives at different locations during a routine patrol and intelligence gathering of the corps.

The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi confirmed their arrests to journalists.

"Olatinwo Koyum Sunday, 18 years and Muideen Usman, 19 years, were arrested for motorcycle theft in Apomu of Isokan local government of Osun State, the duo were arrested for stealing neighbor Bajaj motorcycle and sold it to Bokoto at Ogunpa Ibadan for the sum of N15,000 and they were arrested after a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Isokan Command.

"The operatives swung into action immediately and apprehended the culprit in their hideout.

"Gbenga Adewale, 45 years and Kehinde Adeoti, 51 years, were arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle engine in osogbo at midnight on Monday and were arrested by the operative on routine night patrol.

"Sodiq Afolabi was arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle in Ikirun of Ifelodun local government of Osun State, he was arrested by the intelligence operatives of the corps when trying to steal the vehicle," the Osun Amotekun Corps Commander stated.

He revealed that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to committing the act

The suspects will be handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
