Osun APC Members Rule Out Zoning Of Reps Ticket To Osogbo/Olorunda

Osun APC Members Rule Out Zoning Of Reps Ticket To Osogbo/Ol

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Irepodun and Orolu Local Government Areas of Osun State have kicked against moves by some people within the party to distort the zoning arrangements of both Senatorial and House of Representatives seats in the area.

The APC members, who gathered at the party secretariat in Ilobu on Monday, insisted that the House of Representatives ticket of the party should be retained in Irepodun/Orolu, while the Senate remains in Osogbo/Olorunda as it was agreed upon in 2018.

They alleged that some individuals within the party are currently scheming to have the two tickets of the party zoned to Osogbo/Olorunda, calling on party leaders including Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to ensure that there is fairness and equal representation across the area.

Reading the communique issued after the meeting, the Secretary of APC in Osogbo Federal Constituency, Abayomi Oyedeji said the conduct of the political affairs in the Federal Constituency has been with mutual respect and on equal partnership amongst the four Local Government Areas that form the Federal Constituency.

Oyedeji added that, “the mutual respect had brought and will still bring a lot of success to our party, All Progressives Congress (APC) in any elections in the State.

"The mutual respect and the unity of purpose within the Federal Constituency had been and will still be factors which are helping the Federal Constituency to gather and garner the highest number of votes, amongst the nine Federal Constituencies in the State, for our party in any elections."

He added that the understanding would further aid in the coming gubernatorial and general elections.
