There is a possibility that the Osun State Congress of the APC scheduled to hold on Saturday 16 October might produce two different chairmen of the party.
This is as Adegboyega Famodun, Rasaq Salinsile and Azeez Adesiji baring last-minute political settlement have all indicated interests in contesting the position of Chairman in Saturday's All Progressives Congress (APC) Osun State Congress.
Famodun, the current APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Salinsile the caretaker committee Secretary and Azeez, a former Osun APC Deputy Chairman according to information available reportedly obtained the nomination forms to contest for the party chairmanship position.
Adegboyega Famodun is a prince from Igbajo in Boluwaduro local government in the Osun Central Senatorial District, Rasaq Salinsile is from Iwo local government in Osun West Senatorial District while Azeez Adesiji hails from Ilesa West local government of Osun East Senatorial District of Osun State.
Also, Famodun is a known sympathiser of the IleriOluwa faction of the state APC which enjoys the support and backing of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola while Salinsile and Azeez are both members of The Osun Progressives (TOP).
With previous congresses in the state, the Osun Progressives had championed an elective congress while the Ileri Oluwa group had insisted on consensus, a situation which has led to parallel congresses in the ward and local government congresses.
