Osun Assembly Gets New Speaker, Egbedun

The Osun State House of Assembly member representing Odo Otin State Constituency, Adewale Egbedun has emerged unopposed as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly.

Also, a Member representing Ife North State Constituency, Abidemi Oyewusi was nominated and emerged unopposed as the Deputy Speaker of the 8th Osun Assembly. 

Both principal officers of the House are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The motion for their nominations was moved in motion by the members representing, Irewole/Isokan, Abiola Ibrahim and Atakumosa East and West, Ebenezer Areoye.

The Clerk of the House, Simeon Amusan later administered the oath of office to the Speaker-elect and Deputy Speaker-elect. 

The Osun State House of Assembly has 25 members of the PDP while Femi Popoola representing Boripe State Constituency is an All Progressives Congress (APC) member in the Assembly.
